Condom education around the world! Lynchburg College took a medical service trip to San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. ONE was excited to provide condoms for this trip, to help support safer sex education and STI prevention efforts.
During the trip, the students saw about 400 patients in only 5 days!
"Essentially every patient wanted to take some condoms home, which is life-changing. I think we were able to break through misconceptions and shame that often come with condom use," said Megan Pennisi, Students Without Borders President.
At the end of the trip, they had about 3 dozen condoms left that were handed out to the local high school boys' baseball team.
Whether it's in the U.S. or around the world, our team is committed to working with amazing students and organizations to break down stigma and start conversations about sexual health. Thank you Lynchburg College!
