What is Natural Personal Lubricant?
Natural lubricant is a type of sexual lubricant used to increase pleasure and reduce friction, derived from naturally derived ingredients like aloe vera. People often like these types of lubricants because of their gentle ingredients that are free from glycerin, propylene glycol, sulfates, parabens, gluten, dyes, and unnatural fragrances.
ONE® True® is a first-in class product. It is made with 99% naturally derived ingredients and has no glycerin or propylene glycol – but is still longer lasting than typical natural lubricants on the market.
What does it mean to be 99% naturally derived? What is the 1%?
The formula for ONE® True® is made with 99% naturally derived ingredients, with the remaining 1% consisting of sodium benzoate. This essential preservative prevents microbial growth and is FDA-approved (classified as GRAS, or Generally Recognized as Safe). Widely used in lubricants and topicals, sodium benzoate is considered safe for skin contact and incidental ingestion at these regulated levels.
Can You Use Natural Lube with Condoms?
Short answer: it depends. Lubricants, like ONE® True®, are water-based with aloe which means you absolutely can use condoms along with this natural lubricant. ONE® True® is compatible with latex, nitrile and polyisoprene condoms. However, some natural personal lubricants are made with oils, like coconut oil or sweet almond oil. These oils often break down latex molecules, making latex condoms ineffective and put you and your partner(s) at risk for STIs and/or pregnancy. Make sure to take a look at the ingredients and condom compatibility before using a lubricant.
Is Aloe Vera Lube Good?
Aloe vera is a great ingredient to seek out in sexual lubricant! Aloe is extremely soothing and moisturizing. So it’s the perfect ingredient for a lubricant!
Does Aloe Lube Expire?
Yes, lubricants with aloe, like other types of personal lubricants, expire. It is dependent on the ingredients how long a natural lube will last. ONE® True® which is water-based with aloe has a 3-year expiration date from the time of manufacture. Before using any lubricants, check the expiration date on the package to avoid using expired products as this can lead to decreased effectiveness and irritation.
Can You Use Coconut Oil as Lube?
It depends! Coconut oil, like other oil-based products, should not be used as personal lubricant because it can break down latex causing condoms to break. So if you are using latex condoms, avoid coconut oil as a lubricant. If you are looking for a natural lubricant, consider ONE® True® as it is water-based, condom compatible, and gentle on skin.
Is ONE® True® Natural Lube Edible?
We get this question a lot - typically from people who would like to use lubricant during oral sex. ONE® True® does not have a flavor to it, but it is generally edible. That means it’s generally safe to consume ONE® True®. However, we do not recommend ingesting lubricant in large quantities. In summary: Yes, you can use ONE® True® during oral sex. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the lubricant ingredients.
