Lights, Camera, Action, and let's not forget Condoms! On November 14th, 2019, EMPOWERR hosted Project Condom. With its theme being "A Night In Hollywood," the event inspired designs like Bjork’s Swan Dress created and modeled by Topher Larkin of the Ryan White Wellness Center and an orange and black Great Gatsby themed outfit by the Student National Medical Association at the Medical University of South Carolina. "A Night In Hollywood," featured 11 teams that represented community organizations, medical students, youth/young adults, creative artists, and healthcare advocates. Nearly 100 people attended and enjoyed a night of music by DJ Trevor D, food, donated by Billie’s Burgers, and drag performances by the amazing Melody Lucas and Kylee Lovlee.
"A Night In Hollywood '' was an event used to spread awareness of the alarming HIV and STI rates in their state of South Carolina. Each team strutted the runway promoting open and honest issues surrounding sexual health in their community. ONE is thankful to partner with EMPOWERR for an inspiring event!
