ONE® Condoms believes everyone deserves a condom that fits properly. This is why our MyONE® Custom Fit® line features 52 condom sizes, including sizes larger and snugger than other brands. We work with advocates across the world to educate people about the importance of proper condom fit. We even invented a day called Measure a Penis Day to get people talking about the importance of condom size. When condoms fit right and work as intended, people are more likely to use them.

We launched the MyONE® Demonstration Kit as a way to help educators talk about the importance of proper condom fit. While standard condoms work great for lots of people, many struggle with common condom fit challenges like condom slippage, squeezing, discomfort, erection loss and breakage.

An image of the MyONE Demonstration Kit. It shows the box, the three demonstrators that are blue in a small, medium and large. There is also an image of the How To Guide booklet, the colorful FitKit penis measuring tool, and 4 condom bags.

MyONE® Demonstration Kit includes:

  • Lesson Plan: A booklet that guides you how to use the materials in the kit to host a condom fit lesson.

  • Infographic Chart: One side shows common condom fit challenges & the other side shows the range of penis girths and lengths.

  • Three Demonstrators: A Snug size, Classic size and Large size.

  • Condoms:

    • 20 x MyONE® 47C condoms to match the Snug Demonstrator

    • 20 x MyONE® 53F condoms to match the Classic Demonstrator

    • 20 x MyONE® 64K condoms to match the Large Demonstrator

    • 20 x Standard Condoms (Atlas®) to demonstrate standard condom fit

  • 100 FitKit® measuring tools to hand out at the end of the lesson

  • 100 condom fit educational pamphlets to hand out as well

By the end of the condom fit lesson, participants will be able to:

1) Understand common condom fit challenges.

2) Understand how a proper condom fit is the combination of the right condom length and girth.

3) Discuss how proper condom fit increases comfort, confidence, and condom use.

Why should I educate people about proper condom fit?

Standard condoms work great for lots of people. But many people need a tighter, looser, longer or shorter condom to help ensure the condom works as intended. That means no slippage because the condom is too big – or no pain, erection loss, and breakage if it’s too small.

A condom chart that shows penis length on the X axis, and the percent of people with that length on the Y axis. This graph highlights that standard condoms are 7 inches long, which is too long for 91% of people.

Did you know standard condoms are over 7 inches long? Using penis girth and length data from a study conducted at Indiana University, standard condoms are too long for 91% of people and too short for 5% of people. Looking at the common condom fit challenges images below, when condoms are too long, they can hang off at the tip (image 6) or bunch at the base (3). That excess latex feels like a rubber band getting tighter at the base. When condoms are too short (1), they leave the base of the penis unprotected from sexually transmitted infections that are transmitted through skin-to-skin contact.

A condom chart that shows penis girths on the X axis and the percent of people with that penis girth on the Y axis. This chart highlights that condoms are too snug for 50% of people and too loose for 30% of people.

Using the same data, condoms are too tight for 50% of people and too loose for 30% of people. When condoms are too loose, they can cause slippage (2). When a condom circumference is too tight on a penis, it can cut off circulation and cause instant erection loss, discomfort along the shaft (4), potential condom breakage, and painful red rings on the penis after sex.

An image that shows a variety of penises wearing condoms, showing condom fit issues like slippage, squeezing, bunching, the condom hanging off at the tip, and the condom being too short.

Everyone deserves a condom that fits their body, and that feels comfortable. When condoms fit right, people experience more confidence and pleasure.

FAQs

What is the standard condom size?

Standard condoms are typically around 7 inches long with a nominal width of 2.09 inches (53mm). The MyONE® Demonstrator Kit helps educators show how a standard condom looks and fits on different penis lengths/widths and provides custom fit condoms as a way to improve comfort, confidence, and protection for individuals who a standard condom may not be right for.

What is the nominal width of a condom?

Condoms are a medical device, and each condom style has specifications they must meet for nominal width, length, and thickness. Manufacturers measure condoms using two dimensions – lay flat width (often called nominal width) and length. The lay flat width is the measurement of the condom when it is laid flat. The length and width are typically defined in millimeters during the manufacturing process.

People use different dimensions to measure their penises, using circumference or girth to describe thickness around the penis. Girth is the same as circumference. The MyONE sizing tools then convert the penis girth measurement/circumference into a recommended condom nominal width. People can't measure their penis nominal width, because otherwise they'd have to flatten out their penis…ouch! Our sizing tools also recommend a condom circumference slightly tighter than your penis circumference to ensure the condom will stay snug in place during use.

How do the MyONE® condom sizes work?

A MyONE size code is called a FitCode. A FitCode is the combination of a Girth Number and a Length Letter. For example: 45C or 64K.

MyONE has nine different Girth Numbers, ranging from Super Snug 45 (45mm nominal width) to 64 Super Wide (64mm nominal width).

MyONE has ten different Length Letters, ranging from C (4.7" in condom length) to M (9.3" in condom length). Fun fact: We didn't use the letters A and B because one day we hope to introduce two shorter length options.

What is a proper condom fit?

A condom should be long enough to cover the entire shaft of the penis from base to tip. But it should not be so long that the excess latex hangs at the tip, or bunches at the base. The more excess latex bunching at the base, the tighter the condom will feel.

When it comes to girth, the condom should be snug enough so that it stays in place. But it should not be so tight that it causes discomfort, squeezing, or erection loss.

Our MyONE® Custom Fit® recommendations will recommend a condom length  slightly longer than your penis length to ensure it is long enough. They will also recommend a condom circumference slightly tighter than your penis circumference to ensure that the condom will stay in place. But this is also why we offer the free sample kits (just pay shipping) so you can test some sizes before you buy. Some people may prefer their condoms a little snugger or loose, for example. So testing some samples is key to finding your perfect fit.
