GLOBAL PROTECTION TAKES A HARD LOOK AT SEXUAL RESPONSIBILITY ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES
Foundation Gives students the Chance to Become LifeGuards and Share their "Sexpertise" With Peers
BOSTON (September 12, 2007) - Where does the ONE Voice LifeGuard program fit in the Sexual Response Cycle? Somewhere between excitement and orgasm! Global Protection Corp., maker of the popular ONE ® Condom brand, today announced the launch of the ONE Campus LifeGuard program, which encourages young adults in college communities to use their voices as vehicles for change in sexual behavior.
- Global Protection is searching the country's college campuses for students who want to encourage their peers to make healthy and informed sexual decisions.
- LifeGuards earn points by directing students to the ONE Voice sexual health quizzes on the ONE Voice Web site, by organizing health fairs, volunteering at a local AIDS outreach program, and more.
- Successful LifeGuards will qualify for additional benefits, including prizes, giveaways, and scholarships on the www.onevoicefoundation.org website. At the end of the school year, the college with the most points will be awarded the coveted "Sexual Responsibility Leader Award".
"Misinformation and social taboos have distracted the public, and too many Americans are ill-equipped with inadequate data regarding sexual health" says Global Protection CEO Davin Wedel. "The ONE Voice Foundation is dedicated to providing a national forum for open dialogue regarding safer sex. Collectively, the power of our voices can help reduce the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies nationwide."
According to The Kaiser Family Foundation, approximately 82 percent of college men and 87 percent of college women report sex with multiple partners while failing to use condoms. Students who are sexual-health advocates can change these statistics by becoming a ONE Campus LifeGuard, all they need is inspiration and a voice. At a time when providing accurate sexual health information is critical in the United States, Global Protection is responding with educational tools and social strategies encouraging informed conversations.
